Sagmani and Binagol


Binagol (sweetened taro pudding with nuts) is a popular delicacy produced by the municipality of Dagami, Leyte.  Sagmani is another suman made of cassava, gabi or sweet potatoes cooked with coconut cream, sugar and sometimes coconut meat.

Roscas of Barugo

Roscas is a butter cookie which is native to Barugo.


Suman Moron

Suman Moron is a smoother variety of suman. This chocolate moron that is made up of ground glutinous rice also known as “malagkit” being cooked in coconut milk. Moron can either be mixed or plain with cocoa or chocolate.

Leyte Provincial Capitol

The Leyte Provincial Capitol is located at Tacloban City, it is the seat of the provincial government of Leyte, built in 1907. It was also the seat of the Commonwealth Government of the Philippines when President Sergio Osmena, Sr. came in 1944 with the WWII Liberation Forces. Historic viewing of murals depicting the First Christian Mass in the Orient and General Douglas MacArthur’s Landing is offered.

Sto. Niño Shrine

The Santo Niño Shrine is one of the 29 presidential rest houses that the late President Ferdinand Marcos had built. It was built for his wife Imelda Marcos, who was born in Tacloban. It is considered the number 1 tourist spot in Tacloban because of its association with Imelda.

MV Eva Jocelyn Cargo Ship

This shipwreck is located at Brgy. Anibong Tacloban City, it stands as a remembrance of the thousand of lives that perished throughout the City of Tacloban on November 8, 2016.
